Turn Signals… Please Use Them.

Turn signals are there for a reason… After the break…

Turn Signals… Please Use Them.

Odds are, you are old enough to drive a motor vehicle. Even if you are not old enough to drive a motor vehicle, you have probably been inside of a motor vehicle while it is being driven.

Therefore, you have likely been inside of a motor vehicle while it has gone from heading “straight” and than proceeds to head in a direction other than “straight,” say, it turns. It turns left. It turns right. It might turn around and head in the opposite direction. Regardless, you have probably been inside of a motor vehicle when the operator of that motor vehicle decides, “Hey, let’s turn to the right” and than does so… While you are in the motor vehicle.

When a motor vehicle has the choice between going in two or more directions, a wonderful procedure occurs… It’s called “Putting your turn signal on.”

Turn signals are your friend… They tell people who are behind you or in front of you valuable information that those individuals might need in order to make driving decisions that will maximize their safety in operating their own motor vehicles. Even if no one is around or you think that no one is around, please use your turn signals anyway because just because you think that no one is close enough to you in order to use that information does not make such a thing true.

Using your turn signals does not mean that you are a wimp or that you are in some way inferior; Using your turn signals means that you are a responsible driver and that you are considerate to all of the fellow motorists around you. Check, on occasion, to see if your turn signals operate properly by testing them out in your driveway. If your turn signals do not operate properly, please consider getting those turn signals repaired promptly as inoperable turn signals is usually a punishable offense to varying degrees.

So, please use your turn signals at appropriate times when you are operating a motor vehicle… Thank you.
