The Year of No Gaming… Day 035…

It’s easy to keep a pledge of no gaming when you’re constantly busy. It’s easy to keep a pledge of no gaming when you’re constantly social. Over the past few days, I’ve been both. Want to know why there are no entries for days 33 & 34? Now you know.

The disadvantage of being excessively busy & excessively social is that no progress has been performed on my personal project. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Anyway you slice that assessment, that is a bad thing.

Events will calm down in another two days. Normalcy is expected to technically begin in three days.

GAMING HISTORY MOMENT:

Change is too often a bad thing, at least for people like myself who want to walk into a video game store expecting to find a robust selection of PC games. Imagine people, though, who are still addicted to arcade games! Arcade games began disappearing years before PC games in video game stores went on the decline!

I can remember the day that one of our favorite arcade haunts finally closed down. It was sort of depressing – We had built up a lot of good memories there. A lot of victories, a lot of humbling defeats… A lot of laughs. We’d often go to the arcade after we were done shopping for computer games, then compare what we had gotten at the game stores at the arcade. The place was converted to make more seating for a food court. See? Progress.

I don’t think I’ve ever stepped into the “expanded” seating area of the food court. There is no need to. Not anymore.
