badly translated indian music videos…

it’s very easy for blogs to be negative because there’s so much negativity out there. i could rant & rave about how lousy the movie “the love guru” did at the box office & fill my blog entry in five minutes, tops.

however, instead of my blog being an obituary page for notable personalities or angry rants about nouns & verbs, here’s a bit of amusement instead…

i was at youtube the other day & found a video where someone took a really cheesy looking indian (as in india, not native american) music video & tried to find english words that sounded close enough to what they were singing in hindi. the video was fairly amusing & i guess it would be asking too much to have an unedited video to compare the “translated” video with to see how much visual suggestion influences what you hear versus when you see an english word followed by a sound that “sort of” fits the word.

there are a couple of indian videos like that at youtube.

also, i guess that in this day & age of political correctness, it should be pointed out that i wasn’t laughing at the indian music videos for any racial, ethnic, theological, or [fill in the word & then add “ic” or “al” to the end of it here] reasons.

heck no.

i was laughing with the videos for reasons that are politically-viable for me to one day be elected to federal office.

just clarifying that.
