brain tumors…
so, senator ted kennedy supposed has a malignant (aka “agressive & bad”) brain tumor. no one knows what ‘grade’ it is (“grades” apparently go from 1 to 4 with 4 being really, really bad) but malignant brain tumors are just plain bad to begin with.
on a human level i feel bad for the guy. no one wants to be sat down by their doctor & told they’ve got a brain tumor, never mind a malignant one. i’m guessing that one doesn’t live to be the ripe old age of 100 because of brain tumors & even the successful removal of a brain tumor most likely doesn’t bode well for your plans of longevity. in other words, he’s going to be eating crackers on the same cloud that patrick swayze is going to be parking his haloat before 2010 rolls around.
on another level, though… well, what can i say? he ain’t jfk. at least jfk got out of the rat race before it was revealed that he had more then a passing interest in pharmaceuticals & marilyn monroe. he also ain’t jfk’s son who, although landing vertically into the atlantic ocean, at least died while young & healthy & before any of the tabloids could really sink their teeth into him.
i dunno… ted kennedy sort of reminds me of all those kin that gets famous because their uncle or father or whomever got famous & everyone wants to know if the talent runs in the family or if the famous one is just a freak of nature. i’m sure he’s probably done a lot of good things along the way but how many people could have done the same if their last name was “kennedy”?
crud – i bet i can spend $10 million bucks just as well as some guy that’s been filthy rich since day one. not as crassly, perhaps, but that $10 mil would be gone just the same.
